Board of Directors

The District is governed by a Board of Directors (the “Board”) consisting of five directors who either own property or are residents within the District. The Board has oversight responsibility for the financial and operational aspects of the District. Board members are elected to serve four-year staggered terms, with elections held every two years in May of even-numbered years.  The current directors of the District are:

Financial Information

District Taxes

Each homeowner in Rocky Creek pays annual property tax to the District through Travis County. Travis County collects these taxes and remits them to the District.

The District’s 2022 property tax rate was reduced from $0.8725 to $0.771178 on each $100 of taxable property within the District, consisting of $0.555000 to pay debt service and $0.216178 to fund maintenance and operation expenses.

The tax levy raises approximately $2.2 million in the 2022-2023 financial year. For the same financial year, the annual debt service on outstanding bonds issued to finance District facilities is approximately $1.6 million per year and maintenance and operation expenses (including planned equipment replacement costs) are approximately $1.2 million per year.”

History

The District was created under Section 59, Article XVI of the Texas Constitution and by Order Granting Petition for Creation dated March 29, 2005, approved by the Texas Commission on  Environmental Quality (“TCEQ”). The District comprises approximately 467.88 total acres.

The District is located entirely within Travis County, Texas, approximately 23 miles west of downtown Austin, Texas, and approximately 5.4 miles west of downtown Bee Cave, Texas. The District lies approximately 4.8 miles west of the intersection of TX71 East and Hamilton Pool Road.
